Carrie Underwood had a scary fall back in November of 2017, which caused the singer to need 40-50 stitches, and left her with a scar that the she kept hidden. While on the Bobby Bones podcast, the country singer opened up to tell the story about what really went down during the accident.
“I was taking the dogs out and I just, I tripped. There was one step and I did not let go of the leashes. Priorities! — So, that is why my left hand is fine. But, I went to catch myself, and I just missed a step. If I had fallen anywhere else, I would have been totally fine. But, there was a step that messed everything up.”
Carrie went on to say, “It set me back. The most frustrating part was attempting to work out with a broken wrist and how much it can throw off your whole world – having an appendage that is there, but you just cannot use.”
However, the country star admitted that she was lucky that when the incident took place, things were not busy for her.
“I was lucky that when it happened, everything was shutting down in the music world as we had the holidays and things like that.”
Underwood later went on to address the moment when she told fans,”When I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different.”
“I did not know what was going to go on. I did not know what it was going to heal like. I felt like it was important to me, as I started resuming my life once again, and going to the grocery store and taking my child to school and stuff like that I was like, ‘Ok, someone is going to creep on me at the grocery store and people are going to be like, what happened and post it on Instagram.”
The fall left Underwood with a barely visible scar under her nose, and she had to get a plate in her wrist. However, the country artist has kept busy — she rocked her ACM Award performance. Also her newest album, ‘Cry Pretty’, is set to be released September of this year.
