Anthony Bourdain who is known as an amazing chef and writer was found dead in his hotel room in France on Friday morning by close friend and French chef, Eric Ripert, according to CNN.
Bourdain was in France working on an upcoming episode of his the CNN series, “Parts Unknown,” when he committed suicide.
“It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain,”CNN said in a statement Friday morning. “His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller.His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.”
I ate with Bourdain. Probably 2004. He was big even then but he took time to sit with me in Chinatown to talk “weird” food for a magazine piece I was writing. He taught me that our “weird” is the world’s delicious. We ate chicken feet. The afternoon vibrated with life. RIP

Bourdain took viewers around the world exploring culture and cuisine for two decades, Chef Gordon Ramsey said Anthony Bourdain,”brought the world into our homes and inspired so many people to explore cultures and cities through their food.”
Bourdain has won many awards during his career, one which was the Peabody Award in 2013 — judges honored Bourdain and “Parts Unknown” for “expanding our palates and horizons in equal measure.”
