Kevin Hart’s Friend Charged For Trying To Extort Him

Back in September, Kevin Hart posted a video of himself apologizing to his pregnant wife for his mistakes — when rumors about the comedian spread in August of Hart being involved in a cheating scandal. An old friend of Kevin Hart is now being charged with attempting to extort the famous comedian.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that Jonathan Todd Jackson, some know him as Action Jackson, was arrested and charged with one count each of felony attempted extortion and extortion by threatening letter.

“Jackson is accused of trying to extort an undisclosed amount of money from Hart between Aug. 25 and Aug. 30, 2017,” a statement from the D.A. read. “Jackson allegedly had a videotape of the actor with a woman in Las Vegas and then is accused of trying to sell the recording to numerous celebrity news websites,” prosecutors said.

The woman involved in the scandal Montia Sabbag, claims she was unaware of any photo’s taken and denies being involved in any attempts to extort Hart.

Lisa Bloom is Sabbag’s attorney and released a tweet on Wednesday saying,”I represent Montia Sabag, the woman in the video. Montia and I are delighted that the alleged extortionist is being brought to justice. As a crime victim in this case, Montia has fully cooperated with the police since the beginning.

Shortly after the news had been announced that Hart’s old friend was charged he took to Twitter to express his feeling about the situation responding with, “Mind blown…Hurt…at a lost for words and simply in complete disbelief at the moment. WOW.

Jackson could face nearly 4 years in jail if convicted.
