Canadian woman, Sarah Douglas, who is 8 months pregnant, went through a McDonald’s drive-thru to order her coffee last Sunday morning. When taking a sip of her coffee she noticed a brown liquid color — it was definitely not the coffee drink she has ordered.
Douglas spit out the drink and drove back to the McDonald’s she ordered the coffee from and told one of the employees she wanted to speak to the supervisor.
“I showed him the coffee and he had asked if I wanted a new one, and I said, ‘absolutely not, this is unacceptable,’” the woman told Lethbridge News Now.
The franchisee explained in a statement that the machine had been cleaned as usual but the milk supply line to the latte machine had not been disconnected from the cleaning solution, while Douglas’ coffee was being made.
“We have taken immediate action to review the proper cleaning procedures with the team and have put additional signage up as an added reminder,” said franchisee Dan Brown.
