Meghan Markle is the newest member of the royal family and with so many rules to follow when it comes to being royalty — Markle opted to break the rules at her first Trooping the Colour parade by wearing a beautiful, off the shoulder, custom-made pale pink Carolina Herrera dress, with a matching Philip Treacy hat. All other women attending the event wore longer-sleeved ensembles.
The event has around 1400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians who come together to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on her birthday.
Markle arrived to the royal event with her husband Prince Harry in a horse-drawn carriage — looking like a gorgeous modern day princess.
Royal tradition usually dictates that the women do not wear off-shoulder or other more revealing styles. Meghan shows that although there are many strict protocols to follow being royalty, one thing she still controls is her wardrobe.
Making her first appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony she had that newly married glow, looking sophisticated and elegant — standing out in the most fashionable way, proving that sometimes rules are definitely meant to be broken.
