Scott Baio’s wife, Renee Baio, 45, said Saturday on Twitter that she was diagnosed with Microvascular Brain Disease four months ago after first being diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor back in 2015.
Renee was asked by a concerned Twitter user about an update on her health and she responded saying, “Besides having 2 meningioma brain tumors, in Oct 2017 I also learned I have Microvascular Brain Disease.”

According to Bel Marra Health, Microvascular ischemic disease is also known as small vessel disease. It’s the narrowing of the blood vessel leading to reduced supply of blood to brain tissue. Microvascular ischemic disease is often detected on an MRI of the brain. It shows up as tiny blood vessels in the brain that are blocked. They often appear to have ruptured or filled with clots. When this happens, the part of the brain tissue around the blood vessel can die off.
