The biggest challenge to being vegan is eating out. It’s hard to know what is in what and sometimes the workers don’t even know, so you’re left with ordering the most basic (sometimes) tasteless options just to be safe. Starbucks is a hot spot for gathering with friends, date night, or when you want to run through the drive thru for a creamy coffee drink or an iced tea. Vegans too can enjoy many of the tasty drinks Starbucks has to offer with some minor adjustments — you can check out some below.
Great news guys, the mocha syrup at Starbucks is vegan! Substitute the dairy for soy, almond or coconut milk and ask for no whipped cream.
Green Tea Frappuccino
This Green tea frapp is a sweet and dreamy dessert drink. Substitute the dairy milk for soy, almond or coconut and say no to whip cream for a yummy vegan treat.
Teavana Iced Oprah Cinnamon Chai Tea Latte
Although their regular chai tea has honey in it, you can order the Oprah chai with non-dairy milk for a tasty vegan option.
If you love coffee for the delicious way it is than a Caffè Misto is what you’re looking for. Just replace the dairy for soy, almond or coconut milk.
Iced Vanilla Latte
Order a iced vanilla latte with no dairy instead use soy, almond or coconut milk.
You can’t go wrong with the simple Americano. Drink it black or add some non dairy milk.
Strawberries And Cremè Frappuccino
This drink use to get it’s color from crushed beetles in the past which made it non-vegan and really non edible IMO but now that’s changed. The pink color now comes from lycopene. Substitute the dairy for coconut, almond or soy milk and say no to the whip cream.
Shaken Tea Lemonades
Good news for lemonade lovers. All shaken lemonades are vegan make it even sweeter by having a shaken sweet tea lemonade… yum! Peach green tea lemonade and Blackberry mojito tea lemonade are two really yummy options.
One of my personal favorites — vanilla iced coffee. You can make your iced coffee vanilla, hazelnut or caramel. Substitute the dairy for almond, soy or coconut milk to make it vegan.
Substitute your cappuccino with non dairy milk and hold the whip cream to make this drink vegan.
Classic Hot Chocolate
The tasty chocolaty drink we all love is made with mocha syrup instead of chocolate making it vegan… YAY! Just swap out the dairy and ask for no whipped cream and sip, sip away.
This sweet Very Berry Hibiscus Starbucks Refresher mixed with coconut milk is not only delicious but looks cool too.
Strawberry Acai Refresher made with coconut milk instead of water (Pink Drink) became all the rage a couple years ago and it’s still a hit. This drink taste very similar to pink starbursts…yum!
