Prior to signing with the Portland Trail Blazers all if not, most of the offensive load fell on Damian Lillard & CJ McCollum shoulders.
Fans of the Trail Blazers were in for yet another season of expected disappointment, with the Lakers new 17-2 record it prompted tons of teams to adjust to their winning nature and look ahead.
The Blazers were ahead of the pack and decided to take a risk on a player that was considered washed up and very much out of his prime.
Over the course of the last 3 games Melo is averaging an impressive 22.3 points and 7.7 rebounds, his shooting percentage has also took a serious leap converting tons of his shots on 57% shooting from the field.
Anthony spoke out against his black balled situation and told reporters he felt it was a deeper than basketball decision to keep him out of the league.
The relationship between him & the Houston Rockets lead many teams to believe he had trouble coming off the bench this spiraled for a while until Portland decided to take the chance and sign him.
It’s needless to say paying off for them they’re looking like a big 3, Damian Lillard, Carmelo Anthony & CJ McCollum. This clears their playoff picture up pretty well and gives them a serious fighting chance to take down the competition.
Like any good tool the Blazers will need to not rely on him as much at this stage of his career he’s most likely not going to play 35+ minutes each game, though it has certainly been a great start for their season.
