Dunkin’ is going plant-based! The food coffee chain is now adding a meatless sausage breakfast sandwich to their menu. Dunkin’ will start selling the $4.29 plant-based breakfast sandwich made with Beyond Meat’s vegan sausage at 163 locations across Manhattan starting Wednesday. The company plans to roll out the breakfast sandwich nationwide at some point.
The plant-based trend has been getting more popular with restaraunts such as Burger King, Little Ceasars and Tim Hortons following the trend and adding meat alternatives to their menus.
Earlier in the year, Dunkin’ added two new limited-time breakfast items — the Egg White Bowl, made with egg whites, spinach, roasted potatoes, cheddar cheese and onions, and the Sausage Scramble Bowl, made with scrambled eggs, sausage, cheddar cheese, peppers and onions.
The company hopes to attract more buyers with the new plant-based option.
