The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a food recall warning for a red chili ingredient included in ready meal kits, which were recalled due to salmonella contamination. Hello Fresh Canada Inc. is recalling the red chili ingredient included in certain Hello Fresh brand and Chefs Plate meal kits.
“Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick,” the CFIA wrote on its website. “Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections.”
CIFA recommends recalled products (listed above) to be thrown away immediately or returned to the store where purchased. There have been no reported illnesses connected to these products.
