Dowie appeared to be fine until shortly after the game was over and he started feeling sick. “He was feeling fine, got in the locker room and he started feeling really sick, and at that time the trainer knew we needed to call 911, get him to the hospital,” sais one of the coaches, Byron Crews to WSOC-TV.

Dowie’s father, Sean Dowie, said he believed the injury came after his touchdown. “His head went into the ground, and he sort of flipped over,” he said. “We’re sort of suspecting that may have been the time where it happened.”

Dowie was rushed to University of Florida Health in Jacksonville. Doctors found bleeding on his brain and he has to undergo surgery overnight.
