An Indianapolis woman was sentenced to 7 years in prison after starving her 2-month-old daughter to death in 2017. According to the Indianapolis Star, 28-year-old Janet Ringer was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to one count of neglect. The mother and the father, William Moss were charged last year with neglect resulting in death.
The publication reports that DHS faced inspection after the child’s death happened just hours after four DHS workers visited the home of the malnourished infant. One of the welfare workers showed concern about the infant’s health but did not report it to the authorities.
The baby passed away on August, 21, 2017 from malnutrition and dehydration. William Moss is set for trial in May.
