The new dinosaurs have recruited an old friend. Jeff Goldblum will star in Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel with a role in the follow-up to Jurassic World from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment.
Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again join executive producers Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow in the next chapter of the franchise. Belén Atienza is also producing. Universal vp production Sara Scott is overseeing production on behalf of the studio.
Now, 20 years after that movie, Goldblum is joining the fifth film in the franchise — he sat out Jurassic Park III and 2015’s franchise reboot Jurassic World — which will be helmed by A Monster Calls director J.A. Bayona. Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard have also been reenlisted for the “darker” and “scarier” sequel.
Nearly nothing is known about the sequel, which is currently still being filmed. All we know is Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning and J.A. Bayona is directing and a few new actors have been added.
Jurassic World 2, which won’t be called that, opens June 22, 2018.
The casting first was reported by THR.
