Steve Winfree has been suffering from kidney disease for the past 14 years.
Steve is probably use to feeling tired and weak and with a failing kidney looming in his mind.
The harsh reality of having multiple seizures being in a coma was nearing very soon.
Alerted by his doctors Steve would need a kidney transplant as the dialysis he began in November was not working.
It is now July, A typical kidney dialysis should help the patient in the first week.
Steve’s wife Heather finally decided to take action.
She tested herself to find out if she was a match.
Looking to cheer Steve up she gifted him with a specially designed set of baseball cards.
The cards included famous American players such as Mike Trout and Clint Frazier.
His reaction was very hearth felt as the cards had a very great surprise that would make him very happy.
Inside of the card pack was a card with his picture on it, After seeing and reading it he reads out
“Steve Had the longest fight, with his health issues he’s been striking out a lot. He was not sure how he was going to wind up, His wife had a thing he is a great catch so his wife decided to go to bat for him now he will be a rookie recipient of a Kidney transplant.”
After reading this he teared up and was very emotional later asking his wife Heather, “You want to save my life?”
Heather explained the reason behind placing the surprise in the baseball cards.
“there were a lot of times where he would be in the hospital and I would grab a pack and we would open them. The low-key fun gets our minds off of the everyday stresses”
