Netflix has raised their subscription service again, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Tuesday that the streaming service is raising the price from their popular plan, which offers HD streaming on up to two Internet-connected devices at the same time, from $11 to $13 a month.
“We change pricing from time to time as we continue investing in great entertainment and improving the overall Netflix experience for the benefit of our members,” a Netflix spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.
According to CNN, for a single screen subscription, the monthly price rose from $8 to $9 while the four screen subscription plan went from $14 to $16. THR says, The price increase will kick in immediately for new Netflix subscribers, existing customers will see the monthly subscription increase in over three months time and should expect a notification of the changes via email.
This news follows NBC Universal announcing their plans to launch a streaming service of its own. They are preparing for a 2020 launch of an ad-supported, direct-to-consumer service.
