A woman was arrested on Friday after walking behind a counter a McDonald’s and slapping a pregnant manager in the face because the order “was made wrong.” Shannelle Hanson, 21, was charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault on a pregnant person at Norwichtown McDonald’s in Norwich, Conn., according to the Smoking Gun.
Hanson got upset after ordering a McChicken from the drive-thru that came without lettuce and mayo. She then demanded a refund, according to reports.
The manager gave the woman her refund, but when Hanson asked for a new sandwich too, the 29-week-pregnant manager told her the refund was given in lieu of food. The upset woman rushed into the restaurant, got behind the counter, and said she would make the sandwich herself.
She also raised her hand to the manager, who told police Hanson “got into my face and slapped me.”
McDonald’s coworkers intervened, trying to separate the two women. One male employee took a punch in the face while attempting to break up the fight.
The manager sustained no injuries. Hanson got out on a $5,000 bond, according to The Day, and will appear in court on June 13.
