Michele Prevette Rinaldi, who was an employee at Professional Accounting Services, has been charged with eight counts of felony larceny, eight counts of felony uttering a forged instrument, and eight counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense, thetimesnews reports.
Evidence found that Rinaldi,40, was stealing checks entrusted to the company from three churches, according to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office. The checks were all forged and cashed, and Rinaldi took $9,625, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The warrant lists two churches: the Episcopal Church of the Advocate and Temple Baptist Church.
Rinaldi worked at Professional Accounting Services for a short time. She also has charges pending in Guilford County for multiple counts of embezzlement, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office said.
Rinaldi was placed under a $250,000 bond.
