However, this year, the most loved candy during this holiday season won’t be sold in stores. The conversation hearts, as reported by CandyStore.com is the nations most popular Valentine’s candy, but sadly, the hearts will not be produced this year.
So why is this happening? According to Better Homes & Gardens, In 2008, Necco shut down and sold the SweetHearts and Necco Wafers brand to Spangler Candy Company. It took Necco 11 months to produce 8 billion conversation hearts and since Spangler didn’t take over the company until September, they had no time to produce the candy-loving hearts this year,
Good news, Spangler’s CEO said the conversation candy hearts will be available again in 2020 — guess chocolate will have to do until next year.
