There was a picture posted to Reddit by a user named DarthSpoopy that shows a stack of Starbucks short cups with a christmassy design. The post was quickly removed from Reddit shortly afterward, but not before fans were able to capture screenshots.
“Just got it in our order,” the Reddit user wrote along with his post. “Holiday cup short design!??”
It remains unsure how the Reddit user obtained the photo. However, it appears as though they are an employee for the company.
These are in fact more festive than the previous years, but let’s be real here some are going to complain.There’s nothing quite as controversial than Starbucks holiday cups. I’m sure we all remember back in 2015, when Starbucks released the plain red cup with their green logo and oh, who knew the controversy a simple cup could bring. Christian groups, began claiming the company was trying to remove all references to Christmas from the cups. An evangelist in Arizona said Starbucks had “removed Christmas” from its cups because “they hate Jesus.”
One things for sure these cups do have a Christmassy design, so if these are in fact the cups for the 2017 Holiday maybe we can give Starbucks a break and just enjoy our coffee like adults.
